None of the European or UK agencies I work with employ Filipinos, Indians or Chinese (they should all be effing canceled, right?) But they do employ a lot of young Italian, Portuguese and Spanish ladies, majority of whom, I suspect, are working from their home countries even tough their email signatures indicate UK or German addresses.
Anyways it was just a thought... I'm over the hill and of the wrong sex apparently

As much as I hate it, I'll stick with translation.
Most agencies operate internationally, so not sure there are “European” agencies.
Multi-billion enterprises (eg. Johnson & Johnson) hire a ton of remote PMs from the Philippines (max. $10/hr). I know because I coordinated with them when I was a PM.

I worked as a translation PM up until October, and I fully agree with everything @Lingua 5B said. Besides my usual duties as a PM, since I was senior, I was also responsible for managing the other PMs and handling the loc engineering side of things. There was a time I even had to mine 2000 terms myself… and so on and so forth (not giving out here – this agency is still miles better than some others out there, but the stress lev... And yet, you'd be lucky to hit €3K a month; FYI I live in Ireland.
The translation PM world is in crisis as well. There are loads of PMs job hunting because they've got the sack over the last year or two.
I recently got an offer to work as a freelance PM from someone who used to be one of our clients but has since moved to a different role in a translation agency. The offer? 16 euro/hour - They are based in the UK. Bear in mind, you can't go anywhere on that kind of money here.
True as well that they're hiring in the Philippines and South America, for obvious reasons.
I come from a different background, so I've already taken the plunge once, and I reckon I'm about to do it again. I love programming, have taught myself a couple of programming languages already, and honestly, I'm determined to pursue this. Programming isn't dead, and GPT, Gemini, and the like won't replace it, unless all you do is churn out boilerplate code all day.
Teaching is a good idea too, for those who like it. ▲ Collapse

I love it too, and like you I don't think it is in any danger of dying.
The tooling will change and approaches will evolve, but it's going nowhere.
