if necessary, like yesterday and right now, I work on weekends, but I never accept projects to be delivered on Saterday or Sunday (unless I could finish them by Friday).

I schedule my work and free time at my convenience, which means sometimes working during the weekend and having a day or two (or more) off in the middle of the week. I like the freedom of having my “weekend“ when I choose and taking days off when everyone else is “busy”...

I don't specifically try to work on weekends, but I don't mind doing so, and I don't charge extra for it. But: I'm not as quick on replying over the weekend as I might be during the week. If a client reaches out to me on the weekend, I might or might not reply before Monday morning. When get jobs on a Friday afternoon, for Monday morning, I often do them on Sunday evening.

Since I started freelancing in 2011. I think that's part of the job, especially nowadays when we consider the lack of (good) work opportunities we have.
Also, working on weekends gives me more time to work on and complete projects from clients with different time zones.

It happens. I choose when I work and, in any case, I far prefer translating on the weekend and then doing things in town during the week when it's less busy.

Being British and old, I’ve never worked “on” a weekend. Occasionally I’ve worked over a weekend, at the weekend or during a/the weekend.
It’s overrated.

The whole point of being independent is that you decide for yourself how often, for who and when you work. IOW every day is potentially 'the same'. So it might well suit you to preferably work at night (no distractions) or at weekends so that you can avoid crowds when you give yourself time off...
