Hello! I’m Esin Bowyer, an English–Turkish translator, published author, and former senior banking professional with extensive experience in business, finance, management and communication.
After a long and successful career in banking, I now combine my professional business background with my passion for writing and languages to provide accurate, natural and culturally fluent English–Turkish translations.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Public Relations and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Istanbul, as well as a Personal Performance Coaching qualification from The Coaching Academy in London.
Author & Literary Translation Experience
I am the co-author of the English-language novel New Lives, Old Stones, a novel set in Kaş, Türkiye, which I wrote together with my co-author.
I also translated the complete novel from English into Turkish myself, resulting in the Turkish edition, Yeni Hayatlar Eski Taşlar.
This experience has given me valuable first-hand expertise in literary translation, maintaining an author's voice, character development, dialogue, cultural nuances, tone and storytelling across two languages.
Having been both the author and translator of the same book, I understand how important it is to preserve not only the meaning of a text, but also its voice, emotion, atmosphere and personality.
