Öncelikle; “casting”, basit bir “döküm” işi olup; erimiş bir alaşımın, metal bir kalıba, mutat olarak basınç altında dökülmesi suretiyle yapılan çok hassas döküm olan “die casting”, “basınçlı döküm” veya.”pres döküm” olarak anılır.
