The thing about hydrocarbons is that, when combined with the oxygen in the air and heat, they react exothermically (they give out heat). This heat is useful, and is used directly as a useful form of energy in itself, or is converted into other forms of energy like kinetic or electrical energy that can be used to “do some work”, in other words, perform a useful function.

Catalytic Reforming process is the process of refining crude oil or condensate, with lower octane grade and made a liquid with high octane grade, is a product called reformats. By mixing reformat with fuel in less quality we could gain a gasoline with high quality or we could use reformat directly as a super gasoline(with octane number).in this process the hydrocarbon molecules of naphtha feeding will be changed, it means that the molecules will be converted from one type to another. Some of the molecules are broken down into smaller pieces; therefore the hydrocarbons which are present in reformat will contain more complex forms and the high octane number than what the feeding has. During catalyst reforming process the most important byproduct which is producing will be hydrogen gas which has a considerable amount and then It will be used in reforming process in mixture by feed and also it will be used in another sectors such as refining and purifying the hydrogen feed to remove impurities, especially sulfur feed, and also The small amount of butane, propane, ethane and methane are produced as byproducts.
