This webinar will help you answer the question as to whether doing an MA in translation is the most suitable option to help you along your career path. It will also consider other options, like the DipTrans (CIOL), joining translator associations and even doing a completely different qualification.
Description
This webinar will take a critical look at what is involved in obtaining a translation MA and how it can assist you in your career, to try to help attendees identify whether this is the right qualification for their professional needs.
The webinar opens with an overview of qualifications in terms of translation and discusses factors that you need to take into account when selecting a post-graduate course. We will look at some of the pros and cons of doing a translation MA, and discuss what you can expect to get out of it. The webinar also touches on some alternatives to this option, including the Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists and joining professional associations.
Attendees should come away with clearer ideas as to which translation qualification, if any, is best for them.
