ProZ.com powwow: Osaka/Kansai Powwow 3

December 6, 2009, 12:00 am
JapanOsakaIn personEnglish
The time has come at last for Osaka/Kansai Powwow 3 "Bonenkai-hen".

We have now had two of these get-togethers. Some of us have made some good friends and good connections. I can't think of a better reason to continue to do so.

Here is what you need to know.

When:
Saturday, December 5
15:00-17:00 - Educational and business activities
17:30-19:00 - Informal socializing

Where:
Konohana Ward Hall, Meeting Room 5
Check their website here or view the Google Map.

How much:
300 yen in exact change. Any accidental profits would be donated fully to the social mixer.

Here is what you want to know.

What:
This time around there will be two sections of the event. It will remain largely informal, but I will accept submissions of content for the 1:45 minutes of time free during the first session. I already have a few and will bring some technology for people to have a look at. My co-conspirator, Paul Makino is also working on making wi-fi available. The event should be informal throughout, but useful.
Bring your business cards, and if you would like to bring anything more informational to share, please contact me through my profile on PROZ.

Things are coming together Dec 1, 2009

While I don't see a lot of response on the site yet, it seems that things are coming together. I will be making some calls over the next few days to make this thing start hopping. My goal is for 10 persons, hopefully people who haven't been exposed to networking much yet, so we can spread the love.

MK-san, who runs a small translation agent in Osaka, should be with us on Saturday. I look forward to his presence.

Thank you, but ... whoa! ;-) Dec 2, 2009

We are not a translation agencyicon_wink.gif

Voice production (voice-over, dubbing, etc.) is what we do. Translation is our side businessicon_wink.gif Well... in fact, we can only provide translation services of voice scripts and screen subtitles.

I look forward to it!

Cheers,

Oki
