Migration in birds
En migration rampante et au posé, posture redressée.
This is the type of migration where birds flit from bush to bush as they make their journeys. I have found the translation of "bush-hopping" but without sufficient references to seem reliable. Does anyone know the correct term please?

hop migration
"Birds that ‘hop’ are the ones that assume the most leisurely pace, making many brief stops on their migration route. Those that ‘skip’ make fewer stops, maybe three or four. And birds that ‘jump’ are fast-paced migrants, resting at only one or two places along the way."
Absolutely no expertise in this area, but here http://www.cen-corse.org/travaux/122.pdf we see "... (oiseaux en migration rampante, de proche en proche, ...". Seems to correspond.

: No expert, but it may be that "migration rampante" is just *one* of these 3 categories: https://www.scienceofbirds.com/blog/bird-migration

Better chances of getting hold of a walking dictionary of ornithology than on Proz...
SafeTex may be right, though hop, skip and jump are three different things:
