Hi,
What exactly are the prawns 'gambas langostineras' known as in English? I have found, 'Argentinian red shrimps' (which is very specific), 'Red king prawns', 'Wild shrimps'.
It is for a recipe book; the recipe is Chicken and prawn brochette with sea and mountain sauce.

While the latin denomination is useful, I do not believe all ¨gambas langostineras¨are Penaeus indicus.

Since it is for a recipe and I have never seen one requesting ¨Indian white prawns¨I believe it is safe to translate the term as ¨prawn¨.

: If you don't believe it's Indicus, could it be Parapenaeus longirostris?
And, if so, wouldn't this be "Deep-water rose shrimp"? Highly common in Cadiz and nearby
And wouldn't it simply be a lot more pragmatic to do as you suggest and call it a "prawn?

Penaeus indicus is the name in Latin. When I have this problem, I always try to find the Latin name and then into the target language.
