Spanish term

su intervención procesal no fuese preceptiva

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Lease Agreement
A bit confused by the last sentence here. Not sure what they're referring to. The 'su' refers to the 'abogados y procurador', to the Lessee or the Lessor? And 'preceptiva' is mandatory?

even if their participation in the proceedings is not mandatory

As I understand it, lessee will be liable for lessor's attorney fees, even if the law allows the dispute to be heard without requiring legal representation of the parties.
