I'm translating a survey for fragrance packaging where participants looked at packaging for new fragrances and described what they liked, felt, saw, envisioned, etc., about the packaging. So far it is pretty straightforward but I'm having a hard time with this sentence:
Es feht einen wirklich das man es nicht riechen, aber trotzdem interessant
I am assuming feht is a typo for geht (could be fehlt but that seems unlikely)

Ich komme aus der Marktforschung, habe Gruppendiskussionen moderiert und simultan gedolmetscht, ich weiß, wie das funktioniert. Da hängt ein Mikrophon über dem Tisch, das nicht immer präzise aufzeichnet, was gerade gesagt wird, insbesondere wenn es Nebengeräusche gibt (Öffnen einer Flasche/ Getränkedose, Husten, Niesen, Papiergeraschel), die Teilnehmer sprechen durchaus nicht druckreif, die Person, die das Ganze abschreiben muss, wird dafür schlecht bezahlt, arbeitet unter Zeitdruck, denkt nicht mit, tippt, was sie glaubt zu hören ...
Doch, doch, das ist Originalton und vermutlich auch von einer Person mit Muttersprache Deutsch. Ich schließe mich der Interpretation von Johanna Timm an.
Schluss: Auf dieser Grundlage kann keine vernünftige Übersetzung erfolgen.
