Spanish term

guerra bipartidista

Spanish to English Social Sciences History
It appears that this was a specific conflict in Colombia. While there are references online to "bipartisan war" in Colombia, none of them is as specific as this mention in the Spanish:

Discussion

Edward Tully Jul 25, 2013:
Certainly not an oxymoron Disputes can be between two or more parties; nobody has posted "bipartisan war" as an answer, nor would it be acceptable in this specific context...
bigedsenior Jul 25, 2013:
IMO the term should be left in ES and italicized, with a literal EN translation in parenthesis. "Bipartisan War" is an oxymoron in both languages, but for some reason got tagged locally during that period with the name.

bipartisan conflict

I think "bipartisan" works fine here; the conflict was between the liberals and conservatives of the country.
