French term

gratton

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
This appears several times in a list of catalog items, including:

GRATTON A SANGLE 86 POINTES
GRATTON A POIGNEE ERGONOMIQUE 25x15 480 POINTES
GRATTON TOLE POIGNEE BOIS ERGONOMIQUE 240 DENTS

I can see pictures of these online when I query the French term, but I don't know what it is in English. It looks like a "trowel", but there must be a more specific term since the French is not "truelle".

Thank you!

Yes 'Scratch float' works too! And your definition is correct.
Jennifer Baldwin (asker) Mar 14, 2012:
Scratch Float? I believe the English term is "scratch float" and that the tool is used to apply texture to plaster. Can anyone confirm this?
