French term

rotation du chiffre d'affaires

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Hi

A manager is discussing a brand's retail strategy:

"Nous nous concentrons sur un nombre de PDV défini et nous privilegeons la rotation du chiffre d'affaires."

I've searched various combinations of rotation, rotate and revenues to no real avail.

Thank you for your help.

Sandra Petch (asker) May 5, 2011:
Explanation The author of the text tells me this is "faire tourner les ventes le plus rapidement possible." So I am going with sales turnover (pretty much as Polyglot suggested). Thanks everyone for your help.
Sandra Petch (asker) May 4, 2011:
Sales turnover I just found sales turnover in a glossary (albeit translated from the French glossary that comes up several times when searching the term). Will check this out...
Sandra Petch (asker) May 4, 2011:
Turnover I'm surprised by two agrees with Turnover. I know that works for CA but does it also work for "Rotation du CA"? And what exactly does this mean?
polyglot45 May 4, 2011:
probably means that they just concetrate on keeping sales turning over

regular turnover

Given the context, I'd say that they prefer 'point de vente' operations that will generate regular turnover rather than one off operations
Peer comment(s):

agree Sheila Wilson : I think the "regular" is probably necessary here

repeat of this turnover (reproduce it the next year, etc)

Hello,

Does "rotation" mean "repeat", as in the reproduction of this turnover?

Just a guess...

I hope this helps.
Note from asker:
Thanks, it's a good guess! I'm waiting to see if the author of the text can shed light on this.

no need for regular or any other word , I have quite a good knowledge of this word , as I worked in the field for a very long time .
