Spanish term
determinada fecundación
Spanish to English
Medical
Medical (general)
in vitro fertilisation
Text from Spain, it's the "determinada" that has me stumped. Outlining the legal obligations and rights of expectant parents - here's the context and TIA!

said fertilization
'said' springs to mind, and I have also found it here:
neither the husband nor the wife may impugn the marital filiation of the child born as a consequence of the said fertilization

I think you could also use 'certain' or 'specific' and, as you say, technique makes it flow better:
A certain/specific fertilization technique

: Good morning Emma. I think "dicha" fecundación would mean the same thing, as you've suggested.

Yes, it's not perfect :)

: "Said fertilization" would be well suited for the end of the same sentence: "tal fecundación."

Yes, you're right. Since posting this I've come round to certain/specific or "given" as Claudia suggests.

Comment: "Many thanks to all, but as I was only seeking confirmation that this was not a fixed medical term, all answers are equally valid and I have to thank Emma for her answer and research ;-)"

Here "determinada" can = determined/stated

I think "said" is rather woolly.

: I could go with 'certain' but not decided or agreed. IMO they simply don't fit in this context.

I have given various possibilities. I think "stated/decided/agreed upon" are suitable here. In any case "said" is not sufficient at all. This is why the legal bods should look at this./BTW all my references justify my interpretation.

The
Simple as that. It's clear in the context that they're only talking about one fertilisation (or one fertilisation contract - as more than one is usually needed I believe), therefore I'd just simplify and use 'the'
