This term, "promoción ficticia", appears in a list of information to be provided on new promotions proposed in a telecommunications company in Spain, with no explanation of the term. My first thought was that this might be referred to as a "dummy promotion" in English, but I'm not sure if there's a more commonly used term in advertising. Suggestions welcome.
