This street is an address of a house mentioned in an Egyptian birth certificate (1967). I need to transliterate the name of this street, but I do not know how to pronounce it. Is it IYAD, AYYAD, or something else? Is there a standard English spelling for the name of this street or for the name of the personage after whom the street was named?
For my own edification, where is this street? And who is this person (so important as to have a street named after him)?

Ayyad Bek Street
Bek being a title left as a legacy from the Turkish era,similar to Basha (Pasha). These titles are still very much alive in the Egyptian vocabulary, not necessarily the formal language. Used especially to butter-up officials etc.
