Anyone else frustrated with this? Translators with the Chinese-English pair don't even have the option of taking an ATA test. What's up with that?
I sent an email to the ATA inquiring about this a year and a half ago and the only reply I received was a suggestion to become an ATA member and subscribe to the Chronicle so that I would know when the Chinese-English test becomes available. I'm not kidding.
What's the problem? How long does it take- really?

Has anyone else brought this up to the ATA? Did you get the same response?
I'm really curious as to whether they're really even working on this problem.

Could someone bring this up at the conference?
Nov 6, 2008
I'm unable to attend this year's ATA conference, but if you are there, could you please bring this issue up with the powers that be when you have the opportunity? I'd really like to get this conversation (and the actual Chinese-English test) going. Thanks in advance!
