Go to "Downloads," "Rogalla" The glossary is massive (200+ pages), but is a Word file that doesn't look as though it can be easily converted to a table or Excel file.

... or Rogalla has an alert site manager who doesn't appreciate strangers downloading the glossary: I can't find any Download page on this site.

I missed a step
Jan 18, 2005
I'm sorry. I was reading from the download page and hadn't realized I had skipped a step.
Click on "Produkte" "Rogalla" (click on the +)
Then you will be given the opportunity to open/download
"Technisches Wörterbuch Übersetzung"
Sorry for causing the the inconvenience.
Kevin

Works a charm when you know where to look ;o)).
Certainly an impressive document. It can be made Excel-accessible by saving it as .txt and changing the suffix to .csv, but it needs some cleanup first to eliminate spurious hard returns (at minimum) and possibly change all but the first comma in each line to a semicolon (if so desired) -- not a trivial task for a document of this size (unless someone comes up with a clever macro).
Anyhow, thanks again.

I've started to have a look. It contains nearly 13000 lines, so about 6000 terms, as many lines have continuation lines, that are the main cause of Kenneth's problem.
As an initial contribution to dealing automatically with this, I have established that each continuation line is characterised by having a "special" first-line indent of 1.27 cm (as defined in Paragraph Formatting). You can use Word's "find" to find lines with this formatting. I was thinking of using "search and replace" to convert continuation lines into extensions of the first line for each term, but I haven't yet worked out how to do this. When you "find" this formatting, it finds 1 whole continuation line. I would like to include the preceding paragraph mark also, so that I can replace it with the same line but not the initial paragraph mark. That method is not available, so I'll need to do more thinking and experimenting, unless somebody else posts a solution here first.
Oliver
