Is there any alternative program for SDLTM?

I'm aware that Trados Studios could work on this file type. But is there any alternative app I could use for it?

SDLTM is Studio's internal format for translation memories (TM). I recommend you to read more about it on RWS website.

You can convert SDLTM to TMX, which any CAT software should be able to read. See this guide by Marc Prior for more info (Section 4.3 – Converting SDLTM and SDLTB files for use in OmegaT).
