Had an amazing session this week training our project team - shout out to the 11 talented translators who joined! We dove into techniques to tackle those tricky, long English sentences, ensuring spot-on translations every time. Also shared a super useful American textbook, "Diagramming Sentences" (in handy PDF format!) for some extra practice. Here's to overcoming translation challenges and making complicated sentences a breeze! 📚💪

Then the PM asked me again: If I set the task to be delivered the following Monday, can you do it? What else can I say? It's definitely Yes! I'm grateful to have such a good PM.

A client informed me that their PO system crashed, and some project data were lost. However, I am lucky that I developed a PO tracking system from the beginning. On one side, I use this system to keep every task on track and can be finished and delivered on time. On the other side, I use this information to invoice and get paid accurately every month. Furthermore, when there is a discrepancy between my records and the client's, I can instantly find detailed project information to share with them as a reference.

FEI XU posting from ProZ.com shared:

I took on an assignment of reviewing 20% of the translated content. However, during the proceeding, I found that the quality of the translation was so poor that I went through the remaining 80% of the content to prevent the PM from submitting such a lousy translation to the end-user (a Fortune 500). I did it even if this workload was beyond the scope and was not considered for payment. Since the project was a big one, this work took me quite a lot of time. So, when I handed the final result in, I mentioned the extra work I have done to the PM on the purpose that it would be a bonus if I could obtain the goodwill of the client. And to my surprise, I received a PO from the PM yesterday for the 80% of the over-scope work. What a surprise! A client like this will win not only my long-term partnership but also my friendship! Grateful!
