Insider’s Guide to Napa Valley
Need some insider travel tips for your next Napa Valley adventure? Look no further. We asked our GlamLiving editorial director, Erika Lenkert, for her favorite things to see and do while in Northern California wine country. As a resident expert, she regularly digs up the best finds among the vines. Build five of her must-dos into your itinerary and you can live it up in Glam style.
Wine tasting at Shafer Vineyards
Most extremely high-end wineries are stuffy. Not family-owned Shafer. Book a reservation for the Stag’s Leap district destination’s intimate $45, 90-minute tasting and you’ll savor not only the extremely coveted cabernet (and other varietals) and stunning secluded surroundings but also a laid-back, friendly attitude. Don’t forget to make reservations ahead of time; as with all the best attractions, it books up quickly.

Shopping at Napa Valley Olive Oil Company
This ramshackle shed with its customer business-card-coated interior is a beacon of old-fashioned country charm in chichi St. Helena town. But what transports it from a modest tourist attraction to a genuine destination is its olive oil. Affordable and sold in no-nonsense jugs for cash only, it’s great stuff. The experience of buying it here—and watching the owners tally your total on a brown paper bag—is priceless.

Lounging at Meadowood
This sprawling hillside luxury resort and locals members-only club is one of my favorite places to hole up in the valley. It’s got everything a guest could possibly want—hiking trails, a putting green, croquette (yes, really), a spa, huge outdoor pool, and destination restaurant. The only thing I like more than kicking it in one of the fully loaded freestanding cottages is gathering friends at the pool, ordering a pitcher of margaritas, and splashing around until the sun goes down.

Dining at Bistro Don Giovanni
Whether you sit at this Italian restaurant’s bar or one of its indoor or patio tables, you can’t help but feel festive. The cheery locals’ favorite is perpetually jumping—especially since it serves outstanding pizza, pasta, and oven-roasted dishes all day long. Try the fritto misto, penne duck Bolognese, or seared salmon with buttermilk mashed potatoes and tomato-chive butter sauce and you’ll know why this has been a personal favorite for a solid decade. A bonus: Its come-as-you-are vibe means you can rock a pair of shorts and a T-shirt or a full-blown cocktail dress.

Watching a concert at Copia
It’s a little-known secret that one of the valley’s best cultural experiences is regularly held during summer eves at Copia, downtown Napa’s museum dedicated to food, wine, and the arts. Here, at its intimate grassy amphitheater, guests arrange their picnic blankets and lounge chairs to watch (and sometimes dance to) live blues, flamenco dancers, jazz, and more. The admission is reasonable, and there’s plenty of wine for sale. On a balmy night, there’s nothing better.

Przewodnik po Napa Valley dla wtajemniczonych
Czy potrzebujesz kilku dobrych porad z okazji swojej kolejnej wizyty w Napa Valley? Już nie musisz szukać. Poprosiliśmy dyrektora redakcyjnego GlamLiving, Erikę Lenkert, o kilka informacji na temat jej ulubionych miejsc i zajęć w północnej Kalifornii, krainie słynącej z win. Skorzystaj z pięciu spośród proponowanych przez nią najciekawszych pomysłów, aby stworzyć swój własny plan podróży, a przeżyjesz ten czas we wspaniałym stylu.
Degustacja win w Winnicy Shafer

Zakupy w Napa Valley Olive Oil Company

Obiad w Bistro Don Giovanni

Koncert w Copia
To sekret znany niewielu, że najlepsze wydarzenia kulturalne w dolinie, mają miejsce latem w Copia, muzeum w centrum Napa, poświęconemu winu, jedzeniu i sztuce.
