I am currently attending Washington University in St. Louis, where I am in the process of earning my Master of Arts in Teaching Latin degree. Previously, I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics specializing in the Ancient Greek and Latin languages as well as a Minor in Philosophy.

Assuming all goes well, I will be graduating with my Master's degree in December 2012. I plan to teach Latin at the high school or middle school level, or ideally at both levels. I believe it is vitally important when translating Latin, or any "dead" language for that matter, into modern terms, to exhibit a keen awareness of the ancient culture, society, and peoples, in order to produce a translation that is not only literally accurate, but also stylistically loyal and displaying an awareness of the original intent.

I have a life outside of Latin and Greek that includes baking, making homemade pizza, playing guitar and trumpet, reading, competitive long-distance running, staying politically and socially aware, and listening to music (I am a bit of a music snob).
