I think "indict" could be construed by the US audience as a much more formal step than "indiciado" and it would be more prudent to use something like the above, or, at worst, "accused"
Reading Article 20 of the Brazilian Code of criminal Procedure, I find that the "caput" refers to confidentiality about cases being investigated but the "sole paragraph" says, roughly, that the police MAY NOT MENTION any annotations pertaiing to the institution of an investigation against [people who are requesting a criminal background report] unless they have previously been convicted of a crime.
(Which makes me wonder if only the earlier crime can be mentioned or if, once you are convicted of something, any subsequent investigations of your actions can be mentioned in such a report).
