The author of the book: Duties of the Heart
The author the Judeo-Arabic treatise: Fara'id al-Qulub was Bahya ibn Paquda.
The Fara'id was composed in the 11th century and translated into Hebrew by
Yehudah ibn Tibbon under the title: Chovot ha-Levavot
The write cited above is unclear as to whether the grave site he encountered in his travels was that of this famed author of that treatise on ethical philosophy or another writer also named Rabbeinu Bahya

BA'AL SEFER: writer of Dutiful Hearts/Duty of the Hearts and Torah interpretations...
archaic Hebrew from before it was revived as a spoken language. Hence: המפרש על התורה instead of: המפרש את התורה
