I am currently translating a birth certificate from Nouméa.
The child has 4 names and after the last name there is an asterix (*). At the end of the document we have

In this instance is the "Un renvoi" = "footnote"? "reference"? "amendment"?

If it's an additional appendix or an addendum then the meaning of 'renvoi' is a footnote, but if it's additional signature which is added on to the document then it could be a counter-signature, which is a 'second confirming signature endorsing a document that's been already signed'.
