I'd go with denominations Interfaith marriage would be too strong... this relates to church tax which is only levied on members of the "mainstream" Catholic and Protestant denominations (and e.g. not free churches) and is a set percentage depending on the Bundesland where you live... If the spouses have different denominations, the amounts have to be split when reported for taxes... Also gets interesting if only one spouse works... not sure how it works out if both stay in the church, but if the working spouse exits the church and the non-working spouse does not, the working spouse still has to pay some church tax for the non-working spouse ...
And just to mention it, all other faiths/denominations have to collect their own monies from their members...
