Actualmente, me encuentro traduciendo un cuento corto sobre un hombre que padece leucemia y sufre durante el proceso de la quimioterapia.

¿Me podrían ayudar a traducir la expresión "adivinar la hora" en la siguiente oración, por favor?

Oración: "El teléfono celular sonó. Nunca adiviné la hora, pero era una fría mañana de febrero. Su voz era la misma. No hablamos de lo tarde que era, pero me contó que no podría dormirse..."

Suena como una buena alternativa coloquial. Incluso en espanol "ni idea" de que hora era fluye mas natural.

agree  O G V: Lo de "tarde" parece no tener que ver con la hora sino con que ya no es momento para algo (llamar) o que se ha pasado un plazo. También pueden estar en o venir de husos diferentes (por eso lo de que "no podía dormirse"). Muy poco claro en cualquier caso.
