I'm working on a Sudanese text, and just wondering what this description of the woman's stance is.

Is she standing with her legs spread apart as if she is cutting wood?

وقفت في منتصف الغرفة تماما مفرجة ما بين ساقيها كما تفعل عندما تريد تقطيع الأخشاب بالفأس
