Hola a todos,
I just need some clarification on this sentence and how to translate "las de alta costura". Obviously, "las de alta costura" translates as haute couture or high fashion, but rendering this as describing a person is quite difficult. Perhaps, high-end fashionista? Also, with the character referring to Bravo Murillo's shop, I thought it might be in reference to a mannequin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
"¿Con una puntilla de encaje color barquillo, como los que llevan las de alta costura que vimos en la tienda de Bravo Murillo?"
context: A mother and daughter are talking about a young lady who was wearing a slip dress. The mother asks the above question to find out more about the garment.

the high-class/chic ones
I figure that the mother and daughter are referring to some type of undergarment (the Las) so Las de alta costura refers to some kind of high-class or chic garments that they have seen in the Bravo Murillo shop.

the haute couture/designer ones
The right word would be "haute couture" although "designer wear" is more frequently used.
They are not referring to a person, but to a similar type of designer garment seen at the mentioned store.
Did it have a xxx colour lace like the designer ones (i.e. the petticoats) we saw at such and such?

: Clearly refers to the garments ("prendas" possibly), but "high class" and "chic" sound rather dated to me. I'd go for "designer", or better still "high-end".

'..with a ...- coloured lace edging, like the lace (or lace edgings) that the high-fashion enaguas we saw in the ... shop had?' or something along those lines
–Y lleva una preciosa enagua rosa, mamá, ¡no sabes lo bonita que es!
–¿Con una puntilla de encaje color barquillo, como los que llevan las de alta costura que vimos en la tienda de Bravo Murillo?
Thanks
