Il existe divers types de pompes de vidange, permanentes ou temporaires, la plupart à commande électrique. On les installe souvent dans les sous-sols de maisons situées dans des zones inondables.
La pompe de puisard a exactement les mêmes fonctions que la pompe de vidange, mais elle est installée directement au puisard d'une habitation pour en contrôler les débordements.

Discussion
Il est possible d'avoir plusieurs pompes sur un bateau pour sortir l'eau qui s'y accumule : notamment celle pour évacuer les eaux grises (douches, vaisselle...) et une autre pour assécher les cales, où se trouvent des eaux de ruissellement, condensation etc.
A ma connaissance, pas de pompe sur les carters du moteur.
If it is the engine sump, then it is like on a car etc.
However, if it is a sump associated with the bilge, then it is a different kind of sump...
What seems curious is that you have both terms being used together; can you tell from your document why? It seems as if this might be sales literature, in which case perhaps they are talking hyopthetically about a vessel that might have a sump in its bilge, or might not (so just have a bilge alone)?
