Russian term
блюдо исконно русской кухни
Russian to English
Art/Literary
Poetry & Literature

: so sorry to contradict and water down the agreements, but no! In my understanding, this only marginally conveys the meaning of the original.

Думаю, в этом контексте речь идет точно не о блюдах. речь идет о рассказе, поэтому можно перевести как story, или взять слово с широкой семантикой, типа thing, phenomenon, piece, work и другие

"authentic dish of Russian cuisine"
is it too brave to reply literally? inverted commas may help like "authentic recipe"
e.g. The story has been dished up in a hundred different ways
Yes, it's “a genuine dish of authentic Russian cuisine”! i.e. double-authentic, как две большие разницы:) mouth-watering?

As Russian as it gets!
Like in the phrases As good as it gets - лучше не бывает,
as fresh as it gets,
as Chinese as it gets.
