Hi everyone,
I know we've gone over this term many times and I usually translate it as "Former Chief Resident" but I have it in a context where both terms seem to be translated as "Former Chief Resident"
"Ancien assistant des Hôpitaux - Ancien chef de clinique de la faculté"
Could one of these be "Associate Professor"?
Thanks
Joanna

Note from asker:
Thanks Francois, what I am confused about is why in French uses both "Ancien Assistant des Hôpitaux" and "Ancien chef de clinique de la Faculté" if they both mean "chief resident"? |
Thanks François, but in this case this doesn't seem to be one title but two different titles.... |
Thanks Francois. One last question: "Are you sure he is a head physician of the school of Medecine"? It seems that he is a professor or as Dr. Manu states "Associate Professor".... |

Former Chief Resident vs. Former Chief Resident and Associate Professor
Declined
The way I have translated it in the first case
Ancien assistant des Hôpitaux is Former Chief Resident in any hospital
and in the second case-
Ancien chef de clinique de la faculté is Former Chief Resident and Associate Professor if Faculté is mentioned (i.e. Faculté de Médecine) and this is necessarily in a Teaching Hospital.

Note from asker:
Thanks Dr Manu! This person holds both positions of "Ancien assistant des Hôpitaux - Ancien chef de clinique de la faculté." Can I simply translate Former Chief Resident and Associate Professor? |
Discussion
Your reference is specific to one field (cosmetic surgery). It is not as encompassing as the attachments I provided you with!
Just sent my translation of the second title!
