Shadow meter
I also have the option to tie in the house meter/shadow meter monitoring the main load to do comparisons and audits of the utility bill. I can export that discrepancy, if it’s large enough, and set up the system to send it directly over to the organization that can reconcile my payment.

Shadow Metering –Shadow Metering is used for a number of reasons. One of the main purposes of adding an additional meter or “shadow meter” to your already existing utility meter would be to double check its accuracy. Over the years we have found a number of meters that were not operating properly and through additional metering we were able to confirm billing, energy usage and if monthly energy costs were correct or incorrect.
