Iris Bombe

Iris bombe is a condition in which there is apposition of the iris to the lens or anterior vitreous, preventing aqueous from flowing from the posterior to the anterior chamber. The pressure in the posterior chamber rises, resulting in anterior bowing of the peripheral iris and obstruction of the trabecular meshwork. This may result in an acute attack of angle closure glaucoma. Also note in this photograph a Seton tube inferiorly that is occluded by the iris bowing forward and the iris contacting the corneal endothelium peripherally.

Results of implantation a new type of foldable anterior chamber intraocular lens.

We observed some minor complications after implantation of the AC IOL (e.g. corneal edema, Descemet folds, raised IOP, hyphaema, distorted pupil shape, "iris bombe", blood in the vitreous, displaced IOL and cystic macular edema), most of them were minor and did not influence the final results.

Observation of anterior chamber angle with ultrasonic biomicroscopy after posterior chamber implantation of intraocular lens

After postoperative 3 months, the residual cortex of the lens still existed. Too much residual cortex in the eye caused postoperative peripheral iris bombe and narrowing of chamber angle.

Бомбаж радужки представляет собой нарушение строения передней камеры глазного яблока. Это состояние часто сопровождает увеиты и может привести к необратимым негативным последствиям. Также при бомбаже радужки возникает нарушение оттока жидкости из задней камеры в область трабекулярной сети, что сопровождается внутриглазной гипертензией.

При вторичном закрытии области угла передней камеры глазного яблока возникают следующие структурные изменения:

- Сращения передние и задние в периферической зоне (синехии);

- Зрачковые мембраны, сопровождающиеся формированием зрачкового блока и даже смещением отростков ресничного тела в переднюю зону.
