Italian term

procuratore della repubblica

Italian to English Law/Patents Law (general) guardianship proceedings
This comes from an application for guadianship of a child ("SI COMUNICHI ALLA PROCURA DELLA REPUBBLICA C/O IL TRIBUNALE PER I MINORENNI DI BOLOGNA"). This is normally translated with prosecutor, prosecution department, or some similar term, but since this is not a criminal case, how could it be translated better? I have seen that in the UK the issue is referred to the family proceedings department of the court -- but is that too far away from the original Italian term (and organisation of the court in italy)?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I actually needed procura rather than procuratore but I think that attorney general as the person was helpful and so attorney general's office could work for procura "
