I am just working on a brochure that lists and explains the most common vaccines available. It tells what different vaccines are made of, what they protect against, and who should get them. Mentioned vaccines include MMR, Polio, rota virus etc.
I have now reached the vaccine for smallpox.
This paragraph starts with the title: Smallpox.
The subtitle is: **A Vaccine in the Wings***
The first paragraph about the vaccine starts as follows: The smallpox vaccine has not been routinely given in the United States for 30 years because the disease has been eliminated.
I have honestly no idea what the subtitle means.
From the way this brochure is written, it seems to me, that it will be published with the consumer/patient in mind and not medical professionals.
I hope the context provided is sufficient :)
Any Suggestion?

Oder im Pharmasprech vielleicht (!) auch: "in der Pipeline" (falls der Impfstoff wirklich neu sein sollte)...
