In many countries, gifts are a customary business courtesy, particularly at introductions, facility visits, important holidays, or significant events such as weddings. Gifts provided by CC Group Representatives generally should be of nominal value. A “gift” is a present of some sort. Taking a customer to dinner or golf is not a gift—that type of entertainment activity would be subject to the $500 per event logging requirement described below. Gifts of branded items (e.g., company hats, calendars, shirts, etc.) or mementos (e.g., a display object marking the signing of a deal) are strongly preferred.
