Villancico: En el portal a Belén
One website gives as the translation of this line:
Sing now of Jesus, of the dear baby, but then leaves the last line of the refrain (see below) untranslated as "Lerum, lerum, lerum, la!" (which makes me think that "lerum" is just a filler word without any meaning. But what then of "lamaruxina"?
What are the origin of the words "lerum" and "lamaruxina"? Latin? Gallician?
Thank you.

Este es un lerum, lamaruxina,
Este es un lerum en el portal;
Vaya prosigo este cantar,
Vaya prosigo este cantar.
Lerum, lerum, lerum, la!

Singing “lerum, lerum,” is the dear Mary,
En El Portal a Belen
Ha nacido en un portal
There was born in a stable
Llenito de telaranas,
full of cobwebs,
Entre la mula y el buey,
Between the mule and the ox,
El Redentor de las almas.
the Redeemer of the souls.
Este es un lerum, la maruxina,
Singing “lerum, lerum,” is the dear Mary,
Este es un lerum, en el portal;
Singing “lerum, lerum,” out in the stable;
Vaya prosigo este cantar.
here I continue this song.
Lerum, lerum, lerum, la!
Lerum, lerum, lerum, la!
En el portal de Belén
In the stable of Bethlehem
Hay estrella, sol y luna,
There is star, sun and moon,
La Virgen y San José
the Virgin and Saint Joseph
Y el Niño que esta en la cuna.
and the Child who is in the crib.
Entro al portal un gallego
Entered the stable a Spaniard
Que vengo desde Galicia
who comes from Galicia
Y le traigo al Niño Dios
and him I bring to Child of God
Lienzo para una camisa.
linen for a shirt.
Entro un gitano al portal
Entered a gypsy into stable
De Granada vengo a aqui
from Granada I come to here
Y le traigo al Niño Dios
and him I bring to Child of God
Un gallo quiquiriqui.
a rooster cock-a-doodle-doo.
