French to English Bus/Financial Accounting An accounting job position
Could an expert please advise whether the correct translation for this term is "financial controller" or "cost accountant". I would tend towards the latter as I believe financial controller is practically equivalent to financial director and would just be "le controlleur". Many thanks.

Hi Liz, thanks for your comments. I did do a term search and came up with the term but they said it was admin manager.

the first personally I would go with the first suggestion. A financial controller is not the equivalent to a finance director. I'm sure this question should also be in the glossary.

Back when recruiting adverts were common in newspapers like the FT, this term was commonly seen. No reason not to use it.

In my experience the 'comptroller' spelling (and accompanying job description) is all but exclusively American.
