Si votre moteur travaille à fréquence électrique élevée, il est à noter qu’il vaut mieux une fréquence de PWM élevée (24 voir 48 kHz). Par exemple, pour un moteur travaillant à 20 000 tr/mn, ayant 8 paires de pôles, nous avons une fréquence de commutations de : 6 (commutations par cycle électrique) * 8 (paires de pôles) * (20000 RPM / 60) = 16 kHz. Afin de garantir un nombre minimum de « coup » de PWM entre chaque commutation, mieux vaut utiliser une fréquence de travail de 24 ou 48 kHz !

Yes, Rita, you're right --- it does mean pulses, though in a slightly informal way. But it makes perfect sense. The only thing is, as CMJ has pointed out, in English we DO need the plural that is perhaps optional in FR.
Because the motor speed is altered by adjusting the WIDTH of the pulses in the pulse train (effectively, the mark/space ratio), the 'modulated-width' pulses need to arrive sufficiently frequently to 'mesh' with the motor commutation, in order for the control action to be consistent and predictable.
