Hello
I see that some people who post in the forums are labelled "New user". This is useful, of course, because it reminds us to be extra friendly to such people. But, for how long is a user called a "New user"? What must happen before a user loses his "New user" status? Is a user also labelled "New user" if he has never before posted in the forums (or posted only a few times until now), despite having been a member (platinum or otherwise) for years and years?
Thanks Samuel

Hi Samuel Murray
A user is labeled “New user” in the forums during their first month after registration at ProZ.com.
Best regards,

Is it technically feasible to label a user "New user" in the forums during the first 30 days that they first posted in the forums?

And posts must be approved

And to add to that: posts for new users need to be approved before they are published, which is why new users sometimes seem to take some time to reply, or seem to be missing part of a discussion.

I don't think it is necessary to moderate posts by new users (in the sense of "new user" that I referred to above). Currently, only posts (and edits to posts) of users whose identity hasn't been confirmed, are moderated.
By the way, Robert, ProZ.com refers to moderating posts as "vetting", it refers to paying members as "members", and it refers to non-paying members as "users", as in the following FAQ item: https://www.proz.com/faq/3064#3064
