Norwegian term
m/meld
Norwegian to English
Bus/Financial
Finance (general)
On a bank statement there are repeated references on transaction lines to "m/KID" and "m/meld" - I'm guessing this refers to the mode of authorisation as "m/KID" appears to me to suggest payment was authorised using a customer ID. But what is "m/meld"?

It's an abbreviation for "med melding".

Ian: That's correct - and it's mainly used as an alternative to KID. "M/KID" means "med KID-nummer". See this also reference: http://www.nordea.no/Dagligbank/Betaling Innland/Enkel Betal...
