English term
trial point
English to French
Medical
Medical: Dentistry
Below is the definition of the expression and how it is used. Any pointers for French equivalent appreciated.
The point is made normally of paper shaped in to a fine/very thin"point" and is put down the root canal to see how far/deep the dentist has instrumented the canal. This is shown on a radiograph so the dentist can see how "deep" he has gone and also how close he has got to the apex of the tooth since he wants to stop just short and not breach the apex.
