Arabic term or phrase: التكفيري
This is a new term used by many politicians to describe fundamentalist Islamic movements that openly call the rest of the Muslims كفار (my understanding, correct me if I am wrong). I don't want to start coining the transliteration "takfiri" because it will make sense to no one.
This is not an easy one - I have thought about for two days now.

I've seen the transliteration several times now in newspaper articles so you wouldn't be the first.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I saw your responses to the previous question and I don't necessarily agree that because "excommunication" in the narrow meaning of the term does not exist in Islam, I cannot "localize" it to the understanding of the non-Muslim reader. After all, both takfeer and excommunication have the same role - "you're no longer part of my belief system, and I am in position to tell you to leave"
