The media used in a horizontal mill is actually the material that is agitated in the vessel to break down the paint or ink pigments. The media is usually made of steel, ceramic, plastic or glass and is round like a BB. The size of the media is also proportional to the overall size reduction of the pigment that is required. The size of the media could be anywhere from .25mm to 2cm.
