Deko-Ideen für Filialunternehmen: Esso AG
Would that be franchise? Chain store or branch outlet doesn't fit here. Esso, Aral and Karstadt are all examples of what is meant here by "Filialunternehmen".

More research seems to support that the term refers to the company itself, rather than the branches - see this link:

Here\'s the actual definition:
Filialunternehmen
Ein Unternehmen kann als Filialunternehmen charakterisiert werden, wenn es mindestens fünf standörtlich getrennte Filialen besitzt, die unter einer einheitlichen Leitung stehen.

I seem to have found what you\'re working on, and it looks like their selling little decorative items that allow companies with many branch operations to maintain a common look with seasonal decorations - here\'s the link:

Again, and contrary to everybody else here, your term refers to large companies (with at least five branches/affiliates/locations/etc.) - that is, to the companies as a whole, rather than the individual branches, outlets, etc.

Yes, Johanna is absolutely correct, a company with operations in many locations could be called a multi-branch company/organization. You might prefer the word \"organization,\" which can also include not-for-profit organiations that might use your client\'s products for fundraising endeavours.

branch is merely a smaller sopy of headquarters - see banks. I would go for subsidiary.

Franchise sounds fine to me.
I don't see why it couldn't be used in this context!

: A franchise is generally operated by an independent franchisee, whereas "Filialunternehmen" is directly related to the mother company.

Here are a few choices. "Filial" implies a more subsidiary type of establishment. It's definitely not a franchise (this is owned and operated by an independent franchisee)
