German term or phrase: Erkenntnisbeitrag
I am editing a master's thesis and the author is unsure of the translation for "Erkenntnisbeitrag." It is one of three sections in the conclusion part (Schlusskapitel) of the the thesis:

Schlussfolgerungen (Conclusions)
Erkenntnisbeitrag (??)
Ausblick (Future research)

Thank you for any help you can provide!

English translation:Significance of findings
Explanation:
Erkenntnisse = findings
https://dict.leo.org/englisch-deutsch/Erkenntnis
i.e. the contribution made by the findings that have resulted from this research (rather than to the existing 'body of knowledge')

Re Ausblick, I think that 'Future research' is reading too much into it. I would go for something non-committal such as 'Prospects'. This would include possible applications for the already completed research.

Asker: Thanks for your input - I think it would work for a paper that is broader in scope. This paper is about a specific organization, so I chose another formulation. I appreciate your thoughts, though!

Asker: Thank you very much for your answer - I really like it and have added it to my personal glossary. For this particular thesis, it's a bit too broad, but that's exactly what can make it useful in a different situation. I appreciate your input!
