electronic boards or subassemblies Explanation: Although 'plaque' is perhaps not the commonest term used for it, I can't ee what else it can be, other than a (circuit) board — only thing that makes any sense to me. I suspect this was written by someone who was not themselves an electronics specialist. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 heures (2017-06-29 17:43:46 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I think 'plaque' is rather old-fashioned usage nowadays, I mainly come across it in older texts. I think it dates from when PCBs were referred to a 'circuit boards' in EN too, and more recently, espeically with modular computer technology, they are increasingly called 'cards' and hence 'cartes' in FR. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 heures (2017-06-29 17:46:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I see 'plaque' is also used for the base material ('board') used for making PCBs — though I doubt this is the meaning intended here, since the desire to avoid water is probably more relevant to PCBs that are already populated, rather than just the raw material. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 jour3 heures (2017-06-30 14:25:33 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Just the first 3 examples of this rather dubious usage, drawn from the Linguée bi-lingual alignment resource (always to be taken with a pinch of salt!)
