abgeschmolzen

English translation: dwindling numbers

German to English translations [PRO]
Marketing - Medical: Health Care
German term or phrase: abgeschmolzen
Context: market research about a new therapy and reasons why it cannot attract as many patients as the company would want:

"Der Zurückhaltung bei Neueinstellungen liegen folgende Barrieren zugrunde:
-Abgeschmolzener Pool an einfachen Patienten mit hoher Eigenmotivation"

I cannot think of a cool word for abgeschmolzen in this context. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You're welcome.
It's hardly a "medical" Q though. I was going to change category to "marketing", but the edit option seems to disappear when a Q is closed. Oh well.

I can't think of a "cool" word. ""A diminishing of..." is the closest match I can think of.
